High Tensile Strength At 2% 5% Strain Flexibility 200-50KN/M Knitted PET Geogrid Steep Slope Reinforcement
Yixing Shenzhou 200-50 Polyester Geogrid is an ultra-high-strength uniaxial geogrid with
a notably high secondary strength. It is engineered for the most critical and massive soil
reinforcement projects where immense tensile capacity is required primarily in one direction,
but with a significant need for robustness and resistance to multi-directional stresses during and after construction.
Polyester (PET) Geogrid Key Characteristics:
This nomenclature refers to the geogrid's minimum ultimate tensile strength per meter of width,
as per standardized test methods (e.g., ASTM D6637).
200 kN/m: This is the strength in the primary, longitudinal (machine) direction.
Context: This is an extremely high capacity. 200 kN/m means a one-meter width of the geogrid can
resist a tensile force of 200 kilonewtons before failure. This is equivalent to holding a static weight of
about 20,000 kg (or 20 metric tons) for every meter of geogrid. This is the design strength for main reinforcement.
50 kN/m: This is the strength in the secondary, transverse direction.
Context: This is a key differentiator from a 200-30 geogrid. A 50 kN/m transverse strength is very substantial—higher
than the primary strength of some lighter geogrids. This indicates a more robust and balanced manufacturing process,
resulting in a geogrid that is better equipped to handle secondary stresses.

How Uniaxial Geogrids Work ?
Soil Reinforcement:
Uniaxial geogrids are placed between soil layers, providing tensile strength in one direction, which helps to reinforce the soil and improve its overall stability.
Load Distribution:
They distribute loads over a wider area, reducing stress on individual soil particles and preventing settlement or failure.
Erosion Prevention:
By reinforcing the soil, they help prevent erosion, particularly on slopes and embankments

Uniaxial Polyester Geogrids Applications:
This geogrid is not for standard projects; it is reserved for mega-scale and critical reinforcement:
Very Tall Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) Walls: This is the primary application.
It is used for walls exceeding 12-15 meters (40-50 feet) in height, and often for walls over 30 meters (100 feet). Examples include:
Highway interchanges and bridge abutments in mountainous terrain.
Retaining walls for port and harbor facilities.
Noise barrier walls along major transportation corridors.
Extremely Steep Slopes: Reinforcing slopes at angles that would be impossible with natural soil,
often in challenging environments where space is severely constrained.
Landfill Infrastructure: Reinforcing the steep sides of modern landfills and supporting heavy liner systems.
Major Infrastructure Support: Used in foundations and support systems for large structures built on or near unstable slopes.
